Genelia D'Souza is upset with rumours of her wedding with actor Riteish Deshmukh. The actress says she isn't getting married to anyone for the time being.
"To set the record straight, I am not getting married to anyone. I have always maintained that my personal life is not something I would like to discuss. But this time since it was something that would affect my family, I decided to take a stand," said Genelia in a statement released here Tuesday.
"My films and my brands are my priority as of now and I'd like to keep it that way. And if I do decide to settle down, you will hear it from me when as and when it happens," she added.
A tabloid had reported the romance brewed between Genelia and Riteish on the sets of "Tujhe Meri Kasam" (2003) and that they are planning to get married this year.
"It's rather funny that we have to read about the progress in our lives in the press before we even know it ourselves. I wonder how news like that can be put out without any confirmation from the people whose lives are being discussed," she said.
Genelia is right now looking forward to the release of "Chance Pe Dance". She is paired with Shahid Kapoor in the film, which is releasing Jan 15.

South actor Ram Charan Teja (he’s the son of Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi) is ready to make his debut in Bollywood. Sources insist that the South sensation has been signed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.
Ram Charan was recommended to Farhan by Abhishek Kapoor, who had shot a commercial with him. A source says Farhan saw the actor’s latest Telugu blockbuster Magadheera and was left speechless. “He loved the film and Ram Charan’s performance.
Farhan feels Ram Charan has all the qualities of an action hero. He got in touch with him and has now signed him with his production house Excel Entertainment. A script titled Haafiz was narrated to Ram Charan.”
The film will be majorly shot in Mumbai. It’s the story of two friends - the other character is yet to be cast. The movie is expected to go on the floors in April and the release is scheduled around December.
“If all goes well, Chiranjeevi might play the girl’s father,” adds ours source, While the script is still being fine tuned, the plot is basically rich girl-meets-poor boy plot with alot of action sequences. “Deepika Padukone and Kangna are the two options being considered opposite Ram Charan. The film will be made in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi,” says the source.
Ram Charan, who is currently abroad on a holiday, could not be contacted for a comment. However Farhan Akhtar said, “It would be a pleasure to work with Ram Charan. But the news that we have collaborated on a film is untrue.”

Out of all different movie promotion ideas, this one seems new. Bollywood actors Shahid Kapoor and Genelia D'Souza will be spending Wednesday (Jan 6) night together in a car here to promote their forthcoming film Chance Pe Dance.
"Shahid and Genelia will be spending a full night in a small car at the
Kamalistan Studios today. There will be vada pao (bun) vendors and khatiyas (string cot) nearby for the people. We want to make this the most talked about promotional activity in Bollywood and it's being done on a major scale," a source from the film unit told IANS.
In the film, Shahid plays a struggler who comes to Mumbai to make it big in the movies. According to the source, the activity was planned as it bears semblance with the lives of those who come here to try their luck and also because a scene in the movie depicts it.
"This activity has similarities with our movie. In fact in his own days of struggle, Shahid used to sleep in a car many times. In the movie also, there's a scene where these strugglers have to spend nights altogether, because they have no place to stay," added the source.
The activity will continue till Thursday morning and those who will be present there will be able to share tea and bun maska (bun and butter) with the stars. It will be served at 6 am.
